Christoph K. Engel was born on January 1st, 1966 in Suhl/Thuringia. He lives together with his wife and his two children in Suhl.
Mr. Engel studied automation engineering and technical cybernetics with respect to process measuring technology, sensor technology
and laser measurement at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (university of technology).
He worked for his diploma thesis at the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (Berlin) to the topic of high
temperature strain sensors. Afterwards he began his apprenticeship as patent attorney trainee with the patent lawyers'
association and worked at a supra-regional office located at Munich/Landshut.
Christoph K. Engel took the German and the European patent attorneys' examinations. Furthermore, he
qualified for mediator in the range of industrial property right. Mr. Engel advises on all
questions of industrial property right. Regularly, he represents our clients at the following
authorities and courts:
- German Patent and Trademark Office (GPTO)
- European Patent Office (EPO)
- Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM)
- World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO)
- Regional and Higher Regional Courts (participation on disputes)
- Federal Patent Court
- Federal Court of Justice (proceedings under § 3 II no. 3 PatAnwO)
Besides his professional activities Mr. Engel gives lectures and seminars in cooperation with the
Technical University Ilmenau, the Chamber of Commerce and further educational institutions.

Mr. Rittermann earned a diploma in electrical engineering in the field of electronic media engineering
from Technische Unversität Ilmenau (university of technology). After that, he served as scientific assistant at the Institute of Media Technology of that university. His research lay in the coding and quality assessment of three-dimensional video objects. Furthermore, he dealt with audio-visual application systems according to MPEG-4. After a successful conclusion of his research work, he earned a doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) in engineering science from Technische Unversität Ilmenau.
Mr. Rittermann has joined our patent law firm in 2005. He is responsible for the processing of affairs concerning industrial property rights.
In spring 2009, Mr. Rittermann took the German patent attorneys' examination.

Ms. Reinhardt studied law at the Friedrich Schiller Universität in Jena. She graduated her
legal clerkship at the Regional Court Erfurt. Afterwards, Ms. Reinhardt took postgraduate
studies in business law at the Institute for German, European and International Business Law
in Bielefeld.
Since December 2006, Ms. Reinhardt has been employed as jurist in our office. She is responsable
for the work on special legal questions, especially in the range of trademark and design law
as well as contract law and legal disputes. Ms. Reinhardt's substantiated legal knowledge is
helpful with the treatment of borderline cases arising because of the interface between the
classical fields of patent attorneys' activities and the conventional fields of lawyers
activities.

Mrs. Herold studied electrical engineering with respect to automation and systems engineering
at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (university of technology). Afterwards, she worked as scientific assistant at the Technische Universität Ilmenau and at the Thuringian Institute of Textile and Plastics research in Rudolstadt.
Additionally to her professional activities, Mrs. Herold graduated a professional improvement on the
field of economic and professional information.
Mrs. Herold has been employed as patent engineer since September 2003. She is responsable for the
processing of affairs concerning industrial property right as well as for the research in patent
and furhter specialised databases.

Mrs. Müller studied electrical engineering at the Technische Universität Ilmenau (university of
technology). Up to the year 2004 she worked as scientific assistant at the aforesaid university.
Mrs. Müller has been working as patent engineer at our office since 2004. She is occupied
with the processing of technical property rights. For further qualification, she graduated in
industrial property right by correspondence course at the Distance University Hagen.

After a training as tracer, Mrs. Engel studied mechanical engineering at the Ingenieurschule für Maschinenbau (school of engineering) in Schwerin. Afterwards, she worked in construction departments of different branches,
so that she possesses a consolidated knowledge in this area.
Since 1996 Mrs. Engel has been involved in the office together with her husband. Currently,
she is responsible for controlling combining her technical expert knowledge with the
additionally gained accounting knowledge.

training as paralegal finished successfully in summer 2005.

Ms. Knaut has been employed in our office since 2002 and gained the specific knowledge
which is necessary for the work in a patent attorney's office. Subsequent to her A-levels,
she began her triannual training as paralegal finished in summer 2005.
Ms. Knaut manages the workflow, the formal correspondence with our clients
as well as the administration of property rights.
