In the course of a special seminar about the topic patents at the center of patent information PATON of the Technical University Ilmenau, Mr. Engel informs about the issue "How to understand patents".In particular, it is explained how to find out quickly the patents' information, what to consider for prior art, how to interpret "inventive step" and how to define the patents' scope of protection.

Because of the big interest in this topic, this lecture is hold at regular intervals.
